How to choose your first crystal bracelet
Most buying guides start with a list of minerals. We start with a question: what do you want to feel? Crystals have been kept for centuries as reminders and companions, and the tradition works best when the stone means something personal to you.
1. Name the feeling
Calm before sleep? Steady ground on hard days? A little courage for a new project? Once you have the feeling, the shortlist of stones almost writes itself: amethyst and rose quartz for calm and tenderness, black tourmaline and obsidian for protection, citrine and tiger eye for momentum, clear quartz when you simply want a clear head.
2. Choose a colour you already wear
A bracelet only works if it stays on your wrist. Look at your jewellery box: if you wear silver and cool tones, lavender amethyst, aquamarine and grey moonstone will sit happily beside them. If you wear gold and warm tones, citrine, tiger eye and red agate will feel like they were always yours.
3. Buy genuine, or buy nothing
Dyed quartz, melted glass and reconstituted stone are everywhere in this market. Genuine stones show natural variation — inclusions, faint colour zoning, tiny surface character. Uniform, saturated, flawless beads at a suspicious price are usually not stone at all. Every piece we sell is photographed individually so the piece you see is the piece you receive.
4. Start with one
One honest bracelet you love beats a drawer of maybe-stones. Wear it for a month. Notice whether you reach for it. Then, and only then, let the collection grow.
Our Shop by intention pages group every stone by the feeling it is traditionally kept for — a good place to begin.
